Super Update: More Powerful Tools for Smarter Selling, Smarter Tracking & Smoother Operations

We’ve been busy behind the scenes improving the way Ovatu helps you sell, track and manage your business. Here’s a breakdown of four fresh features you can start using today:

#1 - Google Analytics Now Shows Booking Details

What’s new? Your complete_booking Google Analytics event now includes extra details to help you track conversion trends more meaningfully:

  • Reservation total price
  • Total amount paid
  • Customer ID
  • Services names

Why? To give you clearer insight into what’s converting, how much revenue it brings, and what services are being booked.

Where? Integrated directly into your Google Analytics events (if connected). No action required—just more data at your fingertips.

#2 - Stocktake Now Supports CSV Imports

What’s new? You can now import a CSV file to pre-fill your stocktake amounts.

Why? Some people prefer to crunch the numbers in Excel. This option makes it easier to divide up the task among staff or prepare data offline—then just copy it back in. No more repetitive entry. No more switching tabs constantly.

Where? Head to Manage > Inventory > Stocktake and look for the CSV import option.

#3 - Print Gift Cards on Receipt Printers

What’s new? A new print layout has been added for gift cards, designed specifically for thermal receipt printers.

Why? The standard gift card printout was built for A4 paper—which isn’t ideal for POS receipt rolls. Now, your gift cards can print cleanly from your receipt printer with no awkward formatting.

Where? Go to Manage > Gift Cards (or open one from a customer profile), click the Print icon, then choose Thermal printer receipt.

#4 - Discount Gift Cards (Without Losing Their Value)

What’s new? You can now discount gift cards individually during a sale—without reducing the value of the card itself.

Why? Previously, applying a discount to a gift card reduced both the price and the stored value—making it pointless. The only workaround was discounting the entire sale, which wasn’t ideal.

Now, you can run gift card promotions (think: Black Friday) where the customer pays less, but the recipient still gets the full value.

Where? In the Web app, edit a sale > add a gift card > edit item > set the discount. The gift card price is reduced in the sale, but the full value is retained.
